 Friends, Here are the detailed information of money deposited in the Association A/C.
The amount of Rs 1000.00 credited in the A/c on 31.01.2012 is from Mr. Vijaya Kumar Vedagiri.
On 6.3.2012 Rs. 1000 each from Mr. KK Pant and Mr. Vinod Shankar Bairawa (both from PIB New Delhi) have been deposited.

Shri Dronveer Kohli Passes Away- Heartfelt Condolences

Dronveer Kohli, noted novelist, short story writer, children's writer and former editor Aajkal, prominent literary magazine and Bal Bharti, prestigious children's magazine, passed away this morning (24.01.12) at his residence at Gurgaon (phone: 0124-4060417). He was an IIS officer who also worked as Incharge of Hindi News Unit of All India Radio, New Delhi and Editor Sainik Samachar for some time.

Sh. Dronveer Kohli is a very respectable name among contemporary writers and editors. He has written extensively for adults as well as for children. His novels – Tappar Gaadi and Hyde Park were well received in literary circle.

AN UPDATE ON ASSOCIATION'S ACTIVITIES

Dear Colleagues,

The Association is continuing its efforts to resolve the issue of pay parity and has been doing all it can, to get the desired results for the Group "B" segment of Indian Information Service. 

Some of the Office Bearers of the Association met with the Secretary, Ministry of I&B, Mr. Uday Kumar Varma on 20th of December, 2011 in his chamber. The meeting with the Secretary was very cordial in which he was apprised of the injustice done to IIS Group "B" officers, on issues of Pay Scale, not holding of regular DPCs etc. The main focus, however, remained on Pay Parity issue. A representation was given to him seeking his personal intervention to resolve our long pending demand of revision of GP 4800/5400.

The Secretary heard our grievances very patiently and assured us all possible help. 

In the last two months, two meetings of the Association Executive Body members were held with the Joint Secretary and several issues were discussed with him. An exclusive representation was also given to him for pay parity, requesting him to take up the matter with Ministry of Finance at higher levels. 

Some of our colleagues with an office bearer of Association who were in Goa recently, took an initiative to give a representation to Goa Chief Minister for his kind intervention. The delegation was assured that the CM will forward the representation to MoF and MIB with his positive remarks. 

An exclusive letter, stating our demand for pay parity and discrimination being practiced against us in the Service, was also submitted to the Prime Minister's Office, asking its intervention. It has been learnt that PMO has forwarded the letter to the Minister for I&B. 

On the other hand, we are also trying to seek an appointment with the Union Finance Minister to pursue our case of pay parity, which has been rejected continuously by the Finance Ministry. We are hoping to get an appointment with the Union Finance Minister in January, 2012. 

As you all are aware that a case in CAT, Hyderabad was filed regarding pay parity and it still has not been decided upon. We are also planning to file a fresh case in CAT, Delhi for GP 4800/5400.  

The Association is making untiring efforts to get the justice for IIS Group "B" on various fronts. The Association is doing everything possible within its limits for the betterment of the Service, but it is not possible to mention everything on public forum in detail. Bank Account Updates/ Request for Contribution

There was an appeal from the Association to all members for "an annual compulsorily contribution of Rs. 1,000 (One thousand) in the Association's account to support various activities of the Association."
